Last night a couple friends and I are on the P2P headed out to Franklin Street to have a good night, and we are quickly disturbed from an unlikely form. This very petite girl, who had had obviously wayyy too much to drink, immediately demanded the attention of the entire bus. She was talking to her friend that was sitting just inches from her, but at the same time she was talking to the entire bus. She discussed how hungry she was, how "hot" she was, and how loud she was being. I'm not exactly sure why people feel the need to be extremely loud when discoursing with individuals inches from themselves. I'm especially confused as to why drinking amplifies this desire. If alcohol impairs judgment, it must also affect more than just one or two senses. This young girl thought that she was whispering to herself, we all knew differently.

This is a really good blog. It is pretty cool how you post the strange, interesting, things that we miss. They are pretty funny and interesting at the same time, which is just what you need for bloggers to follow you. As long as your blog is interesting, there will always be followers that read your blog. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThat is very true. Sometime, we do not realize how loud we are being when we are surrounded by a group of people, even when people are sober. It's like we just think of ourselves and how we want everyone to be interested in our story that we do not see that we might be a little too loud.
ReplyDeleteI'm personally surprised the girl's friend didn't try and calm her down or take care of her. Actually some friends and I were on Franklin the other night and witnessed a similar situation. I believe the girl was either by herself or with some people who didn't know her very well but she was completely inebriated and this homeless man was trying to pick her up. She continued to laugh and giggle while the man pulled her away, the people in front of her simply called her name and a guy from the group jerked her away to safety.
ReplyDeleteThis is another example of attitude changes but also a possible example of how safety is such a huge issue.
That should show non-drinkers that drinking is not very attractive. (Especially for ladies!) I think if anyone wants to get "wasted" they should do it in the privacy of his/her own home. If anyone goes to the club, I believe they should keep the drinks at a minimum because for women having poor judgement can be very dangerous and for both genders it is very obvious. I notice on TV that a lot of drunk people get arrested just for being a huge disturbance.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with all of your posts! Friends are especially important when someone decides to drink, or even in general. Safety should always be a primary concern when heading out into a city during the night.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, if a girl was acting like this, I would most likely either be laughing at her and angry because she wasn't being quiet. It is a shame that many people try to gain attention by being loud and obnoxious, it really isn't necessary to act in such a way. I enjoy this blog in general because like "uncsoccer" said, it tells the public about things or events they might miss.
ReplyDeleteLoud obnoxious drunks are never fun... I wouldnt ever want to be remember as the girl that thought she was hot sh*t on the bus late at night. But sweet blog!
